UB Establishes Collaboration with Waseda University Japan

MoU UB and Waseda University Japan

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Waseda University Japan, Tuesday (23/05/2023). The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding which was carried out at Waseda University in Japan covered the fields of education, research, exchange of lecturers, students and global culture.

UB team is led by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Internationalization of UB, Andi Kurniawan, S.Pi., M.Eng., D.Sc, accompanied by the Secretary of the University Dr. Tri Wahyu Nugroho, S.P., M.Si, Director of International Office Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd, and UB Information Technology Researcher Tibyani Hambali, S.ST., M.T.

Andi Kurniawan hopes that through this collaboration, it can encourage the exchange of scientific publications and information, as well as promote other academic activities.

“We hope that further cooperation can be further enhanced, such as a guest lecture on robotics to solve humanoid robot problems with speakers from Waseda University Japan. Besides that, it also develops robot navigation, application and robot implementation as outlined in the Scopus indexed Q1 or Q2 scientific journals,” he said.

It should be noted that UB’s collaboration with Waseda University Japan has started since 2018. At that time UB invited Prof. Shuji Hashimoto, Humanoid Robot Expert as a guest speaker at the International Conference with the theme of Information Technology. Then in 2019, a Visiting Professor Program 3 in 1 UB was held by inviting Prof. Hideyuki Sawada.

The current visit to Waseda University is a series of UB visits to six universities in Japan in an effort to increase cooperation in academic, research and student affairs.
