Malang, February 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Animal Science, Brawijaya University (Fapet UB) held an orientation and initial send-off ceremony for five out of a total of fifteen students participating in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program at Yanbe Co., LTD., Hokkaido, Japan. The send-off event was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Animal Science, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Halim Natsir, S.Pt., M.P., ASEAN Eng., and accompanied by Vice Dean I Ir. Rizki Prafitri, S.Pt., M.A., Ph.D, Vice Dean III Dr. Ir. Eko Widodo, M.Agr.Sc., and Head of the Department of Animal Science Dr. Irida Novianti, S.Pt., M.Agr.Sc.
On this occasion, Prof. Halim advised the students traveling to Hokkaido to always comply with the local regulations, maintain their health and stamina to maximize their participation in the MBKM program, and, most importantly, not forget to pray.
The MBKM program in Hokkaido is part of an international collaboration aimed at enhancing the academic knowledge and skills of Fapet UB students in the field of animal science. Throughout the program, students will gain hands-on learning experiences in Japan’s academic and livestock industry environments, renowned for their advanced technology and management systems.
The Faculty of Animal Science at UB hopes that this program will provide significant benefits to students, both academically and through practical field experiences. With enthusiasm and thorough preparation, students are expected to bring back valuable knowledge that can be further developed in Indonesia in the future.
