The Educational Development Institute of Universitas Brawijaya (LPP UB) held an Implementation of Forum Group Discussion (FGD) in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) Number 7 of 2020 and Circular Letter Number 2 of 2022 Regarding Distance Learning Study Programs.
This activity was carried out in a hybrid manner both online and offline, attended by Vice Deans for Academic Affairs, Heads of Study Programs and Lecturers in UB, Friday (14/4/2023).
Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP said that currently UB is preparing to establish a Distance Learning-based study program. Proposing this study program can provide opportunities for the community both domestically and abroad.
He added that each faculty could open a new study program based on distance learning.
Head of UB Educational Development Institute, Prof. Dr. dr. Loeki Enggar Fitri, M.Kes., Sp.ParK expressed his gratitude to the Directorate of Institutions of the Ministry of Education and Culture and BINUS University for being able to attend the FGD. They also provided information about the Implementation of Minister of Education and Culture Regulation (Permendikbud) Number 7 of 2020 and Circular Letter Number 2 of 2022 Regarding Distance Learning Study Programs at UB.
On the same occasion, Director of the Directorate of Institutions, Deny Kurniawan explained about the establishment and implementation of Distance Learning at universities with PTNBH status according to Permendikbud No. 7 of 2020 and implementation of SE Dirjen number 2 of 2022.
He also gave direction that the institutional directorate not only functions to receive requests for new study program submissions but also as supervisors and facilitators in the implementation of distance learning.
Deny Kurniawan also emphasized that the main thing in implementing distance learning must be in accordance with regulations, namely having the characteristics of being open, independent learning, learning anywhere, anytime and based on information and communication technology. Provisions regarding the PJJ implementation process are stipulated by the director general in accordance with his authority. PJJ implementing tertiary institutions have resources and access to teaching and educational staff resources.
Besides the Ministry of Research and Technology, Mr. Agus Putranto from Bina Nusantara University also presented his experiences from his institution which had previously held distance learning.
The FGD activity is expected to provide information and discourse for Universitas Brawijaya in preparing the distance learning process. (TRS/HUMAS UB/ Trans. Iir)
