UU No. 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers which is a legal rule in regulating the profession of teachers and lecturers is deemed not to regulate specifically, because the Act still unifies perceptions regarding teachers and lecturers. Another difference lies in academic qualifications, where formal education for lecturers is at least S2, while for teachers is enough for S1. And now teachers and lecturers are under different institutions, where lecturers in higher education are under the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, while teachers are under the Ministry of Education and Culture.
