Zefanya Putra Cinero Siagian, the Youngest Graduate at UB Graduation Period 9 Academic Year 2024/2025

Zefanya Putra Cinero Siagian feels proud and grateful for the achievements he achieved at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Graduation Period 9, Saturday (11/29/2024). He became the youngest graduate at the age of 21, with a GPA of 3.80, completed his studies for 3.5 years, and at the same time felt successful since he was accepted to work at one of the leading aviation companies in Indonesia.

“I do have an interest in aviation. My hobby is watching planes since I was little. So this is like a dream that has come true,” said the young man who is familiarly called Zefan.

He admitted to taking part in the recruitment after the thesis exam, then taking a series of tests, psychological tests, FGDs, and interviews, until he was finally declared to have passed as a management trainee at the company before he graduated.

In between his busy schedule, Zefan also likes games and hiking.

“The process is quite stressful. It requires thorough preparation because everything is done using English,” said the Industrial Engineering graduate of the Faculty of Engineering.

Zefan’s achievements are inseparable from the results of hard work, perseverance, and discipline during college. The biggest challenge according to him is maintaining a balance between lectures, organizations, and rest time.

“The key is time management, studying efficiently not studying hard, and don’t forget to take a break, hang out with friends,” he said.

During college, this young man from Medan admitted to being heavily involved in UB Industrial Engineering IKD laboratory. There, he learned a lot about physics, technical drawings, the knowledge of which is still used today. In the lab, he also honed his organizational soft skills until he had the opportunity to manage several projects/events.

He also had the opportunity to participate in the Student Creativity-Entrepreneurship Program where his innovation was successfully funded by the Directorate of Higher Education (DIKTI) because he utilized sugarcane waste to reduce plastic waste.

In between his busy schedule, Zefan also likes games and hiking. He even won 1st place in Mobile Legend (Industrial Games held by the University of Indonesia). While hiking allows him to unite with nature and find new inspiration for future achievements.

“In the future, I want to have my own business, and I think Industrial Engineering can accommodate my wishes. Because in that study program I learn all aspects of business from start to finish, from forecasting to marketing,” he concluded. [Irene/UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
