Lecturers of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) carry out community service activities at Nurul Muttaqin Albarokah Islamic Boarding School, Tlogowaru, Kedung Kandang District, Malang City, Sunday-Monday (26-27/12/2021).
The team involved is Dr. Kuswati (chairman), consisting of Dr. Tri Eko Susilorini, Rini Dwi Wahyuni, M.Sc., Ria Dewi Andriani, M.Sc., Poespitasari Hazanah Ndaru, M.P., and Wike Andre Septian, M.Sc.
The community service activities are carried out by providing creative economic assistance to female moslem students. Through the training in making hijab mask connectors to online marketing techniques. As well as storefront grants to sell products that have been successfully made by the students.
The training by inviting expert instructors was attended by 30 participants. They are divided into three groups, namely the bead brooch group, bead hijab connector, and knit connector. Later, the products made by the students will be sold in the Islamic Boarding School’s cooperatives and online. In addition, participants are also given raw materials in the form of beads and knitting threads so that they can continue to practice and produce.
The event was opened by Dr. Tri Eko as the chief executive.
In his remarks, he said the purpose of the activity was to equip students with skills and expertise to open up entrepreneurial opportunities. So, it fosters the spirit of independence of the female students in earning income.
On the other hand, Icus (Dr. Tri Eko’s nickname), explained that this activity is one of UB’s programs as an effort to empower Islamic boarding school. The next activity agenda that will be carried out by the team is education on pasteurized milk and catfish cultivation. However, it is intended for male students at the same Islamic boarding school.
