Brilian Setia Firanda is the best graduate from the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UB with a GPA of 3.88. Brilian received assistance paying for college through Bidik Misi scholarship while studying.
In his first year of college, Brilian carried out his obligations as a student and also took part in several band competitions. Brilian won 2nd place in the National Band Competition.
When lectures took place online during the COVID-19 pandemic, Brilian took the initiative to increase his skills and knowledge by attending various online seminars. “Lectures are held online so I am looking for something else to do by attending several online seminars on business, supply management, marketing management and other topics,” said Brilian.
While the pandemic was still ongoing, Brilian was interested in developing his business. Brilian and several friends developed the Carenting business, which is an abbreviation for Care in Parenting. Carenting is an application-based parenting service business. This business development is supported by Brilliant’s results from participating in entrepreneurship competitions.
Together with other colleagues, Brilian also participated in various business competitions, such as the 2020 Economic’s Business Plan Competition and succeeded in becoming 1st place. The team also succeeded in obtaining business funding from Brawijaya Youth Entrepreneur program. “We are also looking for ways to get additional capital by taking part in the PKM Dean Cup activities, and won 3rd place,” he explained.

The Carenting business also took part in the 2021 Indonesian Creation Appreciation initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf). The Carenting Team succeeded in becoming finalists, and had the opportunity to meet the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
Apart from developing the Carenting business, Brilian also takes part in many activities outside of lectures, such as helping with community service organized by lecturers. Even though there are many activities outside campus, Brilian remains committed to completing his studies on time. “The tip is to be smart about dividing your time and sticking to your commitment to completing your studies on time,” he added.
After graduating, Brilian was still active as a Management Laboratory Assistant at FEB UB and also did business in the creative agency sector in the field of graphic design.
Meanwhile, Peter Ananthaputra Judianto ST became the best graduate from the Chemical Engineering Study Program with a GPA of 3.98. So far, Peter has felt happier playing with numbers than memorizing them. That’s why Peter did not continue in his father’s footsteps as a doctor at Syaiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA). If you major in medicine, the Biology subject must be strong. “I can memorize, but I prefer calculating with numbers,” he said.
Peter can study together or in groups rather than studying alone.
“After graduating, I want to work in a company in the field that I am interested in,” he said.
Peter is the highest UNBK scorer for high school science majors in Malang City. When he first entered UB, Peter wanted to resign since he couldn’t afford the UKT. Finally, Peter was able to complete college with the help of a scholarship from PT United Tractors Tbk until he graduated [UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
