15 Period of UB Graduation Produces Outstanding Graduates  

Azzara Aji Syahputri, S.Kom and Alfatea Pintari Rahmi, S.Ked

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) student Azzara Aji Syahputri did not expect that she would get the highest GPA on Saturday (15/07/2023), namely 3.97. Even now Azzara has been declared accepted at two Japanese companies, namely Niterra and Kubota as a software engineer.

Alhamdulillah, Masyaallah Tabarakallah, I am very grateful to graduate with a high GPA and some time ago I had the opportunity to be invited by four big companies in Japan for an interview, and was declared accepted at two companies,” said Azzara.

This student of the Faculty of Computer Science will start working and living in Japan in early 2024. While waiting for his departure, Azzara is currently working as a machine learning mentor at Bangkit Academy 2023 while working on IT projects such as creating websites for clients.

Azzara’s achievement is inseparable from her active development of soft skills during college. She participated in the independent learning program by becoming a Machine Learning Student at Bangkit Academy 2022. From there, she learned about machine learning and received a global certification from Google, namely the TensorFlow Developer Certification, which makes her currently becomes a mentor at the agency.

“During college, I also ventured to join the Student Executive. There I trained and developed soft skills such as time management, public speaking, leadership, and teamwork,” said this Informatics Engineering student.

The first child of two siblings has also been elected as the Head of External Affairs of the Google Developer UB Student Club, and has become a practicum assistant for the Database course and teaches database science to juniors every practicum hour.

“After becoming a software engineer later, I want to create applications that are useful for companies and the wider community by utilizing machine learning,” she said.

Likewise with Azzara, a student at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Alfatea Pintari Rahmi, who won a GPA of 3.96 who also graduated on the same day, admitted that she enjoyed participating in various organizations and competitions.

Alfatea has won various competitions, including the 3rd Best Oral Presentation Award at the Brawijaya Medical Conference 2023, the 1st Place for the Ramadan Forsis RSSA Health Education Poster 2023, the 3rd Place for the 2022 METRIC CIMSA UI Public Poster, and became a finalist at the 2023 World Lupus Day Indonesia Olympics, and various other races.

Alfatea also had the opportunity to be part of the Medical Education Student Association (HMPD) as expert staff in the field of Academic and Scientific Reasoning, as well as being a study club mentor in FK.

“By participating in organizations and competitions, I met many passionate fighting colleagues and great teachers. I learned a lot about winning and losing and succeeding and failing, as well as getting various opportunities to explore my potential and increase my self-confidence,” said this student from Pangkalpinang.

After being declared a graduate, Alfatea will continue his medical professional education at RSSA, and in the future aspires to become a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

“I am interested in obstetrics or reproductive fertility and endocrinology science, because the need for ob-gyn doctors in Indonesia is still one of the greatest and I also plan to return to the regions,” concluded Alfatea. [Irene/ UB PR/ Trans. Iir]
