Young Entrepreneurs Join Virtual Expo to Promote Products

The entrepreneurship unit of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) held a virtual expo, Thursday (21/01/2021). Virtual expo is used as an introduction media as well as promotion of products or activities of the winners of the 2020 Fapet Young Entrepreneur competition.

The competition is the program of young entrepreneurial student to improve skills and entrepreneurial spirit (entrepreneurship) in the field of animal husbandry and other fields.

The Chairman of the entrepreneurship, unit Rizki Pafitri, P.hD, explained that the purpose of organizing the competition was to provide experience and an entrepreneurial spirit since college. So it can create jobs in the future as well as being a tough and successful candidate / entrepreneur in facing global competition.

“Therefore, through this program we hope to create or develop creative and innovative entrepreneurial ideas.” he explained

A total of 13 participants, they were divided into two categories, which are capital stimulus for entrepreneurial development and competition for young entrepreneurs. In the capital stimulus, funds were provided for students who already had businesses in both the livestock and non-livestock sectors. Meanwhile, the young entrepreneurial competition activity is the provision of assistance to prospective young entrepreneurs who are about to start their own entrepreneurs.

Stimulus groups include Agri Rabbit Farm (rabbit cultivation), Fis Farm (quail cultivation), sagah milk (pasteurized milk), Abbas Ayu (wet shredded krawu chicken), Sura Farm (integration of goat farming, BSF maggot, and catfish farming. ), as well as Infasmable (rabbit livestock business development with an integrated system).

While the competition group consisted of Agopi (crispy fried apple), Couple Shock (cocon apple sock), Ellato (gelato from goat’s milk), Mastibal (herbal mastitis soap), Pocaci (liquid organic fertilizer from rabbit urine), Sibanik (organic chicken roasted rice), and the Queen (banana chips).

Acting as the moderator, Mulia Apriliyani, S.Pt., MP explained the conclusions of a series of events, that are many opportunities for entrepreneurship, especially in the field of animal husbandry and supported by technological developments.
