Vice Dean III of FISIP Emphasizes on the Importance of Self- Potential

The statement was made by Vice Dean III for Student Affairs, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FISIP UB), K.H. A. Muwafik Saleh, S.Sos., M.Si, Saturday (10/10) when opening the online STUDENT DAY 2 event with the agenda of Introducing LKM / LSO FISIP UB to all new students (Maba) of FISIP UB.

Based on a survey according to the FISIP communication lecturer, a person’s success in the world of work is not only determined by the high Cumulative Achievement Index (GPA). Because the GPA is in the 21st position of success factors in the world of work.

“While, those who are in the first to 10th positions are in fact, all things that are skills (soft skills, leadership and the ability of cooperation. All of these can be obtained from organizational experience,” said the smiling lecturer.

Therefore, Muwafik suggested that all new students can be actively involved in student organizations in FISIP UB. In the faculty, there are 23 organizations that are ready to accommodate the potential of all new students. Don’t let one student not join the organization. Everyone must be active even though it’s still online right now.

The organization he said, which are 23 LKM / LSOs owned by FISIP UB as a forum facilitated for students to explore their potential. Hence, this activity basically aims at introducing the profile and management structure so that the orange knights can choose according to their interests and talents.

Muwafik said that he had an interview at a company and what a worker needed related to his organizational skills. About GPA 3,9 and even 4 are just administrative requirements. Meanwhile, the cooperation potential and can solve the problem are the first seen by company.

For him, this is a special year where the history of humans conducting organizations online for the first time. He also asked new students who participated in the organization to collect their certificates so that in the sixth or seventh semester they could be used for equalization internships if the points reached 300.
