The Covid-19 virus outbreak was first discovered in Wuhan, China at the end of 2019. However, until now its spread is still attacking all over the world, thus paralyzing normal community activities.
According to the World Health Organization, the main root of the virus that attacks the lungs is from consuming bats. Yet according to Islamic law, bats are haram animals to eat since they have fangs.
Therefore, the Shari’a sent by Allah SWT will reassure human life for those who obey it. So, it can be concluded that the covid-19 virus pandemic is a result of human activity.
This opinion was stated by Ustad Amin Heri Susanto., Lc., MA., Ph.D in the Dharma Wanita recitation event, Wednesday (11/25/2020). The activity was held online with the theme “Emulating the Attitude of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in Facing Disease Outbreaks”, in which the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Universitas Brawijaya (Fapet UB) had the opportunity to be the host.
Ustad, who is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UB said that the emergence of the corona virus this time was due to unhealthy and unclean living habits. However, as humans, we shouldn’t be afraid that it causes stress and lowers immunity.
“We must put our trust in Allah SWT by continuing to be active but by obeying health protocols. As the prophet Muhammad SAW recommended when facing disease outbreaks in the past. ” said Amin
He continued, he gave advice to stay away from this virus, which are by praying a lot, giving alms, shalawat, and always maintaining personal and environmental hygiene. On the other hand, the arrival of the corona virus also brings wisdom, which is to increase harmony with family because there is more time to stay at home. (dta/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir)
