Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya (FISIP UB) reached the final stage in the process of getting an improvement in the study program accreditation that previously received a B grade, Thursday (1/4/2021).
This online visitation puts forward the health protocol, where the parties involved in this process consisting of an accreditation team, assessors, and educators and education staff can attend virtually. The accreditation assessment is very important because it will be related to the concept of an independent campus promoted by the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, B.A., M.B.A.
In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 5 of 2020 concerning the accreditation of study programs and tertiary institutions, in article 2 paragraph 1 it is explained that Accreditation is an external quality assurance system as part of the higher education quality assurance system.
The event, which is scheduled to take place from Wednesday 31 March to Thursday 1 April 2021, opens with an assessment opening session, then continues with an agenda of sessions with faculty leaders and study program managers related to faculty development plans, followed by a data confirmation session and also a session with internal quality implementers.
The standards given to improve accreditation are very complex, not only limited to the curriculum but also include other aspects such as management and quality assurance systems, learning, academic atmosphere and good service to student needs.
Dean of FISIP UB, Dr. Sholih Mu’adi, SH., M.Si hopes that the political science study program can get the best improvement and results from this assessment.
