The video which depicts culture and ethnicity, the traditional food of East Java, and tourist attractions made by Universitas Brawijaya Postgraduate students, winning 1st place in Best Cultural Video in the SEARCA University Consortium Graduate Forum (UCGF).
This annual event for UC SEARCA members was attended by several campuses from various countries, such as Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan. And aims to share knowledge, research ideas and new experiences in an open platform. Profile about UB was delivered by Prof. Sasmito Djati as Executive Officer of UC Searca.
One of the teams, Myta explained that the making of East Java cultural videos at UCGF is a combination of ideas from the UB team, namely Bosha, Yogita, Myta, Yunika and Filoza.
Myta hopes that the video made can raise the cultural side of East Java as a diverse and unified area with local culture.
“The cultural aspects contained in the video including social society, dance, natural tourism and culinary specialties from East Java, especially in Malang,” he said.
The making of this video is divided into several sub-themes from culinary, culture and tourism in Malang and East Java with the initial opening in the form of introducing the profile of Universitas Brawijaya as a member of UC SEARCA.
UCGF is an event that encourages cross-disciplinary action, promotes greater research through strategic partnerships among UC members, and strengthens relationships among UC members.
Meanwhile, the campuses that are members of UC include Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB), Gajah Mada University (UGM), Putra Malaysia University (UPM), Kasetsart University (KU), University of the Philippines Los Banos. (UPLB), Tokyo NODAI (Japan) and National Taiwan University (NTU).
UCGF 2020 was held virtually on 10-11 December 2020 by Gadjah Mada University (UGM) (Host), Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The theme raised was “Resilient Food and Agricultural System for Accelerating Economic Recovery: Strategy and Implementation”.
The coordinator of SEARCA UB, namely Dr. Panji Deoranto, STP, MP, said that on this occasion Universitas Brawijaya participated to take part in the 2020 UCFG event.
Representatives from Universitas Brawijaya team were represented by Postgraduate Students, including Paramyta Nila Permanasari (Faculty of Agriculture), Yunika Nisa Afifa (Faculty of Agricultural Technology), Yogita Ayu Dwi Susanti (Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences), Filoza Marwi (Faculty of Animal Husbandry) and Mohammed Al-hadi Ibrahim Bosha (Faculty of Agriculture).
