IAAS LC UB held the Village Concept Project 2024 (VCP) Program to help the community of Sukosari Hamlet, Pandansari Village, Poncokusumo District, Malang Regency to empower rural communities through development in agriculture and social sectors, with a focus on education, environmental conservation, and utilization of local potential.
A social service initiative involving 40 participants involved activities in the form of developing the potential of Pandansari Village in collaboration with various stakeholders to improve village welfare, community empowerment in education, environment, and agriculture, and product development based on local potential.
This year, the theme raised in the program is “Real Steps, Empowered Community”. This theme reflects VCP’s commitment to empower rural communities through structured work programs in community development, village potential development, and environmental education. This program aims to make rural communities more resilient and ready to face various social, economic, and environmental challenges.
In its implementation, the Village Concept Project (VCP) program raised several activities to empower the Pandansari Village community. Trial and Error aims to develop oranges as a superior village product to improve the local economy.
IAAS SAGA (Studying Agriculture and Science) holds classroom learning and planting practices to improve agricultural skills. Independence Day (Lopilasan) commemorates Indonesia’s Independence Day with a competition that emphasizes mutual cooperation and togetherness. Socialization for PKK mothers aims to improve the skills of PKK mothers in developing local food products. As for the branding of the product and the Humanity account at IAAS LC UB aims to promote VCP products through social media and introduce IAAS social activities to the public. All of these programs are integrated to strengthen village potential, improve community welfare, and encourage local economic development.
This program accommodates students to be able to carry out real social actions for the community and improve their skills. Within the framework of the second principle of Pancasila, students are expected to be active in providing positive and sustainable contributions to the community.
