Examination Process Using Metal Detector to UTBK Participants in UB

The second batch of Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) Joint Selection to Enter State Universities (SBMPTN) at Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is held for two days, Monday-Tuesday (26-27 / 04/2021). A total of three computer laboratories in UPT TIK UB are provided for 186 participants.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aulanni’am, drh., DES said that there were not as many participants in the first batch in UB since the location of the test was determined by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) according to the domicile of the participant due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The preparations are carried out as the first batch of UTBK, but there are additional regulations from LTMPT, which is examining participants with a metal detector. This is to prevent participants from bringing gadgets, “said Prof. Aulanni’am.

Health protocols are adhered to by wearing masks, face shields and gloves, sterilizing the room and maintaining distance between participants, rapid tests for supervisors, checking body temperature, and preparing isolation rooms if there is participant who are indicated to be sick.

“The attendance rate of the participants since the first batch, has been above 95 percent on average every day. I hope the second batch of UTBK will run smoothly and safely like the first batch and the last year, “she concluded.

The first batch of UTBK in UB has been held Monday-Sunday (12-18 / 04/2021). The Coordinator of Planning, Academic and Cooperation Division, Heri Prawoto Widodo, S.Sos., M.A.B reported that the number of participants in the first batch was 17,018 participants. So, the total UTBK participants in UB in the first and second batches are 17,204 participants. With details of 8,526 scientific groups test, 7,935 social humanities, and 743 mixed.
