From the total participants, two participants are deaf and blind who take the test in the building of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UB.
Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dr. Sholih Mu’adi, S.H., M.Si said that FISIP building is always used as a test center for participants with disabilities.
“Since there is a large enough room, the waiting room also meets the physical distancing requirements. It is also located on the first floor, so the access is friendly for participants with disabilities,” he said.
FISIP TU Coordinator, Edy Roesanto, S.H., M.H said, deaf participants took the test on Monday (12/4/2021) while one participant was blind on Thursday (4/15/2021).
“For blind participants, they will use a special tool, and will be accompanied by a companion,” he explained.
Meanwhile, UB has prepared 17 buildings with 66 rooms for the implementation of UTBK-SBMPTN this years.
The 17 buildings used include the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the ICT Unit at the Rectorate Building, and Inbis Building.
Besides preparing the room, UB provides 1275 computers for each session and 10 percent spare computers to facilitate the implementation of the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) for the Joint Selection Entrance to State Universities (SBMPTN) in 2021.
Before using, each room and the completeness of the test are sterilized first by spraying disinfectants.
“UB also regulates the seating distance of 1.5 meters between participants, provides masks, gloves, and spare face shields.”Supervisors and committees on duty must also follow health protocols such as vaccines or undergoing rapid tests,” he said.
Head of UB COVID-19 Task Force, Prof. Dr. dr. Sri Andarini, M.Kes ensures that the test room has good air circulation, and to minimize physical contact, before entering the test room, and during breaks, the queue of participants will be arranged so that they do not cluster.
Screening for participants was carried out by checking body temperature with thermo gun. “If someone coughs, has a cold, or is sick, we have prepared an isolation room in each faculty where the UTBK test will be held. So they can still take the test, “he explained.
UB also provides a health team and ambulance, in collaboration with UB Clinic.
“So if there are participants who need medical assistance, they will be picked up by ambulance and taken to the UB Clinic,” said Prof. Andarini.
Meanwhile, the flow of entry and exit from the campus is also differentiated to avoid congestion. If the participant has difficulty in finding the location, an officer is provided to take the participant to the test location using the shuttle bus. [Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
