UB’s International Office Welcomes Isabela State University Delegation to Discuss Agriculture and Livestock Collaboration

Universitas Brawijaya (UB), through its International Affairs (IO-UB), welcomed a delegation from Isabela State University (ISU), Philippines, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborations between UB and ISU, particularly with the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Animal Science.

The meeting was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and focused on strengthening academic ties between the two universities and exploring opportunities for collaboration in agriculture and livestock sectors.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) covering various collaborative programs, including student exchanges, joint research, and innovation development in agro-industry and livestock sectors. Prof. Imam Santoso emphasized that this collaboration would significantly contribute to addressing global challenges in agribusiness and livestock.

“This partnership opens up significant opportunities for both institutions, especially in research and innovation development. Through student and faculty exchange programs and joint research, we can broaden our perspectives, strengthen international networks, and leverage each university’s resources. We hope this collaboration will not only enhance the quality of education and research but also provide real solutions to global agricultural and livestock challenges,” said Prof. Imam.

In addition to discussing the MoA, the visit included a tour of research facilities at UB’s Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Animal Science. The ISU delegation had the opportunity to directly observe the technologies and research programs currently being developed at both faculties.

This visit is expected to pave the way for closer cooperation between Universitas Brawijaya and Isabela State University, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the fields of agriculture and livestock at the international level.
