UPT International Academic Affairs (IAA) conducted interviews for candidates of the KNB Scholarship recipients at Universitas Brawijaya on Wednesday (23/4). A total of 37 students who applied to join UB were present at the virtual session. If successful in obtaining the scholarship intended for citizens of developing countries, they will continue their studies at the master’s and doctoral levels in 12 faculties at UB in the upcoming academic year.

Dr. Didik Hartono, M.Pd, Head of UPT IAA, stated that this activity is part of the selection process for the KNB Scholarship conducted by the Ministry of Education and Culture with funding from LPDP. Initially, applicants registered through the Indonesian embassies in their respective countries. After undergoing administrative selection at the embassy, candidates will be handed over to the target universities for selection through interviews and other tests. “Today, we conducted interviews involving representatives of the intended study programs and the internal team of UPT IAA itself. After this, we will also conduct academic potential tests for them,” said the Faculty of Cultural Studies lecturer.
Meanwhile, several aspects were explored during the interview session. Among them, UB seeks to understand why candidates want to continue their studies at UB and in the selected study programs. Candidates are also asked to explain the relevance of the intended study program to their educational background or previous work experience. In addition, the internal team of UPT IAA wants to ensure that candidates will fully commit to the regulations set by LPDP, namely being willing not to marry or bring their families during their studies, not suffering from dangerous diseases, and having obtained study permits for candidates who are employees.
