The International Office of UB held an event titled “Info Session: Choose France for Your Studies” at the Meeting Room on the 8th Floor of the Rectorate Building. This event aimed to provide comprehensive information about studying in France and scholarship opportunities for students interested in continuing their education in the country.
The event was officially opened by the Director of International Office, Dr. Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of studying abroad in developing more competitive human resources. “Opportunities like this are invaluable for students to broaden their horizons and enhance their global competitiveness,” he stated. He also expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants attending the session.
The main session featured Gabriela Bakara, the Head of Campus France Surabaya, who provided in-depth insights into the French education system, top universities, and various scholarship programs available for Indonesian students. “France offers a variety of high-quality academic opportunities supported by attractive scholarships. With the right preparation, studying in France is not just a dream,” she said enthusiastically.
Additionally, the event welcomed Olivia Delima Malik, an alumna of Université Rennes, who shared her personal experiences while studying in France. She emphasized the importance of mastering the French language as a key to academic success. “French language proficiency greatly influences the smoothness of both studies and daily life in France. Therefore, early language preparation is highly recommended,” she explained.
As part of the event, participants also had the opportunity to join a French language initiation class led by Eva Bordesoulle, a Master’s student from Université de Pau who is currently interning at Universitas Brawijaya. The class was met with enthusiasm as participants actively engaged and attempted to grasp the fundamentals of the French language through interactive methods.
Through events like this, International Office UB continues to be committed to providing access to global education for its students. A bright future is now closer, and France can become a part of their academic journey.
