Brawijaya University Received CIC Award as the Disability Friendly Campus

Brawijaya University received an award from the Central Information Commission (CIC) as a Disability Friendly Campus. This award was given by the Chairman of CIC Dr.Ir. Donny Yoesgiantoro, M.M., M.P.A to UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, SSi., MSi., PhD.Med.Sc at the Lumire Hotel, Jakarta (Thursday, 14/9/2023).

The award was given at the same time as the CIC event, namely the launching of the publication of the Public Information Openness Index (PIOI) and the launch of the braille and audio versions of the CIC Law.

According to Donny, public bodies need to continue to improve information services for people with disabilities.

“What is certain is that we continue to encourage all public bodies to be open and provide information that the public needs, including our brothers and sisters with disabilities,” said Donny.

Meanwhile, Widodo, after receiving this award, expressed his joy and pride.

“Brawijaya University’s commitment to providing services and information to people with disabilities has been recognized and appreciated by CIC. “We will continue to improve services for them so that they are comfortable doing activities in UB campus,” said Widodo.

Head of UB’s Information and Public Relations Division, Zulfaidàh Penata Gama, PhD (Ida), who accompanied the Rector to receive the award, looked happy and enthusiastic. Ida expressed her gratitude to all UB leaders and academic community for their support and cooperation in making UB a disability-friendly campus. This is proof of UB’s commitment to providing services and information that the community needs during this time.

Besides UB, the CIC award was also given to three other universities, namely UM, UNPAD and UNP.
