Universitas Brawijaya Strengthen Global Academic Diplomacy at the 12 Countries, 12 Universities Forum

The Rector of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.Med.Sc., took an active role in the International Symposium of 12 Countries, 12 Universities held at Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), China. This activity brought together university leaders from 12 countries to strengthen strategic cooperation in the fields of higher education, research, and global innovation.

The event was officially opened by the President of NJUPT, Prof. Ye Meilan, and continued with remarks from the guests of honor and a video presentation of the development of the international university alliance. In the forum, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the International Consortium of 12 Countries, 12 Universities was also carried out. The signing marks the formation of a formal alliance between members to expand the global collaboration network.

In the university introduction session, Prof. Widodo presented the profile of Universitas Brawijaya which currently serves more than seventy thousand students with 184 study programs in 18 faculties. UB is positioned as one of the leading higher education institutions in Indonesia with a commitment to internationalization and academic innovation.

In his speech, Prof. Widodo conveyed eight main collaborative initiatives for this university alliance:

  1. International research collaboration with the support of matching funds and Article Processing Charges (APC).
  2. Joint mentoring of Masters and Doctoral students.
  3. Cross-country student mobility.
  4. Appointment of guest lecturers from partner universities.
  5. Exchange of staff for publication collaboration.
  6. Sharing of lecture materials and online lectures.
  7. Mutual support in international reputation surveys such as QS.
  8. Collaborative citation strategies between alliance members.
