UB Becomes the Host of the 2024 PTN-BH Audit Communication Forum

Brawijaya University (UB) hosted the 2024 Audit Committee Communication Forum Meeting (FKKA) for National Legal Entity Universities (PTN-BH). ) (8/3-9/3/2024).

“This forum provides an opportunity for members to discuss together about various daily operational problems faced by Audit Committees in various universities,” said Chairman of FKKA PTN-BH, Prof. Dr. Agus Joko Pramono. M.Acc.,Ak., CA.

Prof. Agus also highlighted a number of challenges faced by PTN-BH in operationalization, especially related to asset management, taxation and financial regulations.

It is hoped that discussions about these problems can produce better and more effective solutions in managing assets, managing taxes, and managing the finances of higher education institutions.

“Currently, there are very big challenges in operationalization related to assets, related to taxation, related to regulation, which ones are a burden on the APBN, which ones are not APBN, which ones are state assets related to the national ministry of finance, or which ones are assets that can be managed independently by the university,” he said.

Rector of Brawijaya University, Prof. Widodo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.Med.Sc, conveyed the importance of the role of Audit Committee in providing direction for change and progress in higher education.

“In my opinion, this communication forum is very important and essential. Because the direction of action policy is high, it also includes how to spend money, use money, create programs depending on the results of the information from this audit,” he said.

Rector Widodo also emphasized the importance of risks discovered by audit committees for improving the quality of higher education.

According to him, the audit carried out was not only carried out to find out fraud, but also to find out the risks that exist in competition in the world of education.

“How can this audit direct to risks, so that we don’t lead to destruction,” he emphasized.

The meeting participants, consisting of representatives from various universities throughout Indonesia, are expected to actively contribute to discussions and share best practices from their respective experiences.

Thus, it is hoped that this meeting can become a useful platform for improving the quality of financial and asset management in various universities in Indonesia.

Furthermore, it can also provide valuable insight for all participants, as well as produce concrete steps to increase efficiency and transparency in financial and asset management in the higher education environment.
