Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in the series of its 62nd Anniversary held the Grand Final of Putra Putri Brawijaya (PPB) 2024. This peak event was held at the Samanta Krida Building on Wednesday, November 3, 2024, and was attended by invited guests, leaders, academic staff, and UB students.
In the Grand Final of Putra Putri Brawijaya 2024, participants from various faculties at UB competed to win the prestigious title of Putra and Putri Brawijaya. Those who advanced to the final round had gone through a series of strict selections and intensive preparation including public speaking training, social insight, and leadership. This competition not only emphasized appearance, but also assessed the broad insight, communication skills, leadership, and social contribution of each participant.
Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Dr. Setiawan Noerdjasakti, stated that this event has an important role in shaping the personality of students as the nation’s next generation. “This event is not only about competition, but also about character building and self-development of students. Those who are selected as Putra and Putri Brawijaya will later become ambassadors who represent the values of Universitas Brawijaya, both in intelligence, creativity, and social awareness. We are very proud of the achievements of the finalists who have shown high enthusiasm to develop themselves and inspire fellow students,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Advisor of Putra Putri Brawijaya, drg Miftakhul Cahyati, expressed his appreciation for the participants who have gone through a long journey and full of preparation. “I see extraordinary development from the participants. They not only increase their insight and skills, but also have a higher social awareness. We hope that the winners can carry out their duties as UB ambassadors with full responsibility and become role models for other students,” said Mifta.
Under the assessment of competent judges in their fields, this event was also enlivened by art and music performances that enlivened the atmosphere, adding to the enthusiasm of all those present. The judges consisted of Panda Agoeng Soedier Poetra (Director of Color Models Inc.), Phienta Mutiara Kusuma Simamungson (Runner Up II of Puteri Indonesia East Java 2024), Dr. Drg. Perio. (Advisor of Putra Putri Brawijaya), Zenitha Kurnia Putri (Assistant Marketing Manager of UB Medcom Group), and Ladinia Dalintasya (Runner Up I UB Ambassador 2014).
The highlight of the event was the announcement of Putra and Putri Brawijaya 2024 who will later carry out the duties as campus ambassadors for the next year. As ambassadors, they are expected to represent UB in various internal and external activities, bringing a spirit of togetherness, academic brilliance, and social commitment.
