To commemorate its 20th anniversary, the Department of Communication Science Universitas Brawijaya (UB) launched three books on the theme of communication in Indonesia. The books are titled Quo Vadis Communication Science in Indonesia, Gempita Warna Komunikasi di Indonesia, and Researchers Profile Book.
The Head of the Department of Communication Science, Prof. Rachmat Kriyantono S.Sos., M.Si., Ph.D, explained that this launch was specifically designed to commemorate an important momentum for the department.
“Our intention of making this book because of the right anniversary moment. The Researchers Profile Book includes research profiles and publications from lecturers in the last five years,” said Prof. Rachmat.
Meanwhile, the Quo Vadis Book asks the direction of communication science in the future, especially in facing the current digital era. According to him, this book offers new ideas about how communication science can develop and play a role in the digital era.
Meanwhile, the book Gempita Warna Komunikasi di Indonesia focuses more on the amplification of thought in the world of communication. The man who is familiarly called RK explained that this book presents an in-depth analysis from lecturers on the dynamic communication situation in Indonesia, in accordance with the relevant communication science perspective.
“The process of working on this book took place from July to early October,” he said.
Secretary of UB Communication Science Department, Reza Safitri also conveyed the challenges in the publishing process, especially in collecting writings.
“The initial deadline was August, but we extended it. Alhamdulillah, the Quo Vadis book managed to reach 300 pages, and the Gempita book also has substantial content,” said Reza.
