Universitas Brawijaya (UB) took part in an exhibition of medical tool held by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, (12/7-13/7/2023) at Alila Hotel Solo, Surakarta City.
In this exhibition, UB exhibits various health device innovations produced by UB community such as DGscope (digital stethoscope for telemedicine), Telesphorus (mouth camera for teledentistry), Bowell (food calorie measuring bowl), Byca Oxym (breastfeeding baby carrier), mold detection system for teledermatology, Snepy (smart neck pillow), as well as 3D-printed medical equipment for skill labs.
This event was held by the Ministry of Health with the aim of bringing researchers and industrial partners together so that there is a downstream of the innovative products they create. The Ministry of Health also opened a discussion forum regarding the roadmap for medical devices in Indonesia and regulations for downstreaming medical devices.
This event was opened directly by the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD, Ph.D. He said the Ministry of Health would become an intermediary for researchers with industrial partners.
“We are collaborating between educational institutions and industry so that some of the innovations in educational institutions can be directly applied and used by the community,” he said.
Prof. Dante also took the time to visit Universitas Brawijaya stand and gave a positive appreciation for the innovation presented by UB team. Besides, UB’s stand was also visited by many representatives of the Health Polytechnic from all over Indonesia and local visitors from Surakarta City.
It is hoped that with the start of this program, Indonesia will be able to produce its own medical devices and not depend on imports. This can also spark the enthusiasm of domestic researchers to continue to innovate regarding domestically produced medical devices
The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) through the Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices held a Research Results Exhibition at the Coordination Meeting for Strengthening the Medical Devices Research Center Network on 12-13 July 2023, at Alila Solo Hotel, Surakarta City.
In this activity, the Ministry of Health invited 15 universities/research networks to display innovations and research results related to the development of medical devices. Universitas Brawijaya delegated three representatives from the Faculty of Medicine namely dr. Agung Riyanto Budi Santoso, Sp.OT(K), dr. Thareq Barasabha, M.T, and Muhammad Abdul Raziq..
