
Universitas Brawijaya (UB) will assist in teaching at Merak Elementary School in Sumberwaru Village, Banyuputih District, Situbondo Regency.
In the activity, UB will deploy a team from LPPM Community Service and KKN students.
The head of LPPM research team, Anggun Trisnanto, said that UB will send a KKN delegation and the first focus is on basic education considering that there is only one elementary school in the area.
“In Merak Village, Situbondo there is only one primary school service. Even, then the condition is not proper. In addition, the three main services, which are education, health and administration, are also unavailable,” he said.
Teaching activities at SD Merak are planned to be carried out in August and involving the Chair of the Functional Position Group (KKJF) Community Service LPPM UB and UB KKN Team from several faculties, such as MIPA, FKH, FTP, FISIP and FCS.
“This is a form of UB contribution as a member of East Java CSR Forum to improve basic services to the community,” he said.
After the teaching activities are completed, another form of community service that is planned to be carried out is the development of biogas and solar energy.
“Merak Village has potential that is not inferior to other villages. One of the potential that stands out is cow dung waste. The condition of the cowshed and dung that has not been processed is around 5000 cows,” he said. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
