UB Signs MoU with Untag Samarinda

Brawijaya University (UB) is collaborating with 17 August 1945 University (Untag) Samarinda to develop joint research in the fields of campus development, the National Capital City (IKN), and agriculture. The agreement was marked by the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the Banquet Room, 6th Floor, Rectorate Building, Thursday (1/2/2024).

UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S. Si., M. Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc., in his speech said that the campus is very open to lecturers from Untag Samarinda taking doctoral programs at UB.

Prof. Widodo added that the UB Postgraduate School has implemented doctoral education with a research scheme, making it easier for lecturers to continue their education without disrupting their daily teaching activities.

“We have many choices of postgraduate study programs, especially since we have implemented doctoral education with a research scheme,” he said.

Rector of Untag Samarinda, Dr. Marjoni Rachman, M.Si., explained that the aim of this collaboration is to gain knowledge and learn from UB regarding campus management to university development. This can be obtained by learning from UB which has been good at managing campuses for a long time.

“Hopefully we can gain knowledge and learning from UB so that we can develop the University,” said the alumnus of FIA UB Postgraduate.

He continued, the people of East Kalimantan, which will later become part of the new capital city of Indonesia, certainly do not want to just be spectators, so Marjono hopes that lecturers from Untag can collaborate with UB lecturers to carry out joint research that can improve human resources in East Kalimantan.

“We hope that the lecturers from Untag Samarinda can collaborate with UB lecturers, especially in the field of agriculture,” he said.

This activity was also attended by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Internationalization, Andi Kurniawan S.Pi., M.Eng. D.Sc, UB University Secretary, Dean of FP, and all Deans from all Faculties in Untag Samarinda. (FB/OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir)
