Brawijaya University (UB) collaborates with PT Indomarco Prismatama to improve the welfare of farmers, contribute to education, and reduce unemployment. The agreement was marked by the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the Banquet Room, 6th Floor of Rectorate Building, Thursday (21/2/2024).
UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S. Si., M. Si., Ph.D.Med.Sc., in his speech said that UB lecturers had many products that had been developed, but experienced obstacles in marketing their products on a wider scale.
Prof. Widodo added, UB currently has PT Brawijaya Multi Usaha (PT BMU) which is very open for collaborating with PT Indomarco Prismatama so that it can manage UB’s resources optimally.
“We really hope for PT Indomarco’s contribution to the world of education,” he said.
Executive Director of Micro Economics PT Indomarco Prismatama, Feki Oktavianus also hopes that by collaborating with UB it can make cooperation with farmers easier and faster.
“With this MoU we have clear cooperation to continue collaborating in the future,” he said.
Feki added that he would convince farmers that their products were priced at a reasonable price, so that they would be more enthusiastic about planting and be more prosperous.
“PT Indomarco will be the off taker that will accommodate the farmers’ production,” he emphasized.
This activity was also attended by the University Secretary, Director of Cooperation, Director of Business Entities, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) and Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP). Meanwhile, from PT Indomarco Prismatama, Malang Branch Manager, Junior Marketing, Mandiri Indo Grosir Store Manager, Outlet Manager, and Malang Branch Location Manager were present.
