The Center of Earth Studies and Disaster Mitigation Universitas Brawijaya synergizes with Malang Raya Volunteers to distribute relief of flood disaster in two locations, namely Bangsalsari District and Tempurejo District, Jember Regency on Sunday (24/01/2021).
The aid provided was in the form of basic necessities and cleaning KIT materials. The first aid was delivered at Ponpes Ar-Rosyid Kec. Bangsalsari Together with KH. Amen and Ust. Imam, while the second aid was handed over to the Joint Care Center for K3S Kec. Tempurejo. The assistance includes 80 pax foodstuffs consisting of 5 kg of rice, 2 liters of cooking oil, 1 kg of sugar, 5 pcs of instant noodles, and 1 kg of eggs.
“We gave 40 pax of aid that were distributed in Tempurejo District and 40 pax of aid were distributed to Bangsalsari District, and 20 pax were distributed directly to Ar-Rosyid boarding school and the other 20 were distributed to local residents” said the Coordinator of the Center for Earth Studies and Disaster Mitigation UB, Ns. Mukhamad Fathoni, S. Kep., MNS
Furthermore, he added that the assistance was given because the condition of the boarding school building was quite badly damaged.
The board of the Ar-Rosyid Islamic boarding school hopes for further assistance from Universitas Brawijaya in terms of building material assistance, seeing the worst damage occurred at Ar-Rosyid Islamic Boarding School which resulted in the breaking down of the walls and roof of the boarding school.
