Universitas Brawijaya (UB) won seven awards in the 2024 Diktisaintek Awards held at the Graha Diktisaintek Building, D Building, 2nd Floor, Senayan Jakarta, Friday (12/13/2024).
The seven awards received were the Student Learning Award (BELMAWA) category for the Certified Independent Internship and Study (MSIB) program and the Student with the Best MSIB Contribution on behalf of Callan Rahmadyvi Triyunanto; Resource Award in the Academic Leader Category, Technology Lecturer Sri Suhartini and Science Lecturer Ahmad Sabarudin; Public Relations Award in the Press Release and Social Media Categories won bronze winners each, and the Cooperation Award in Higher Education with the Best International Cooperation won silver winner.
Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso MP said that the 2024 DIKTI Saintek Award is an event to give appreciation to universities that have contributed, worked hard, and of course produced the best reputations in the fields of higher education and Science and Technology.
“For UB, a number of awards won are proof that UB consistently and continuously makes performance improvements and this then results in achievements that are appreciated by the Ministry of DIKTI Saintek,” said Prof. Imam Santoso.
Prof. Imam added that one of the achievements, for example, two categories for academic leaders.
One in the field of technology won gold, and in the field of science won silver.
This shows that UB lecturers have very high academic performance in the fields of research, innovation, and even their contribution to development.
In addition, of course, several awards that in terms of governance also show that UB has implemented good governance, so that at the national level, a number of UB’s achievements, performance and reputation are appreciated.
Meanwhile, in the event, there were 315 awards received by State Universities, Private Universities, LLDKTI, Journalists, Industry, and Media.
Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Prof. Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro said that this event was an important momentum to appreciate the business world, higher education, journalists and industry so that they could open up new opportunities and strengthen global competitiveness, creating superior competitiveness.
The awards given were not just recognition but also encouragement to go further in order to realize highly competitive Indonesian education.
Winner of the Academic Leader in the field of science, Prof. Sabarudin said that one of the things that encouraged him to get an award was the publication and citation of his excellent work nationally and internationally.
“One of my featured works is about the innovation of a kidney damage detection tool using urine. A simple device that I created to help people determine the level of kidney disorders they are experiencing. Is it in a normal or serious stage?,” he said. (OKY/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
