UB Wins Kemendikti Saintek Achievement Award of Top 500 QS by Subject 2025

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) has once again made a proud achievement in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025. As a form of appreciation for this achievement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology gave an award to UB at the World’s Outstanding Universities Appreciation event, which took place on Thursday (20/3) in Jakarta. This award was received directly by UB’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Imam Santoso.

In this year’s ranking, UB managed to place five fields of study in the world’s Top 500 list, an increase from the previous year which only recorded three fields of study. This success is the result of UB’s commitment to improve its academic reputation and research quality sustainably. The following are UB’s rankings in each category, Agriculture and Forestry (Rank 251-300), Accounting and Finance (Rank 301-375), Law and Legal Studies (Rank 351-400), Economics and Econometric (Rank 401-450), and Business and Management Studies (Rank 451-500).

As a form of appreciation for this achievement, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology invited UB to attend the World’s Achieving Universities Appreciation event – QS WUR Top 500 by Subject. This event was also attended by leaders of Indonesian universities that have successfully entered the global ranking.

This activity began with a working meeting led by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian, together with rectors and vice rectors from various universities in Indonesia that were included in the ranking. In his remarks, Prof. Brian emphasized that ranking is not the final goal, but rather a measuring tool to evaluate and improve the competitiveness of universities in Indonesia on a global scale.

Imam Santoso, said that this award is the result of the hard work of all UB academics in improving the quality of education and research. UB is committed to continue strengthen global collaboration, increase the number of quality scientific publications, and develop internationally oriented academic programs to improve academic competitiveness on the world stage.

The increase in the number of UB study fields in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 reflects the success of the university’s strategy in strengthening its academic reputation and increasing research output in various disciplines. The main factors contributing to this achievement include, increasing the number of scientific publications in internationally reputable journals. Strengthening academic and research cooperation with global institutions. Investment in academic resources and developing the capacity of lecturers and students. With this achievement, Universitas Brawijaya has further strengthened its position as one of the best universities in Indonesia and is determined to continue to improve its ranking on a global scale in the future.
