UB Achieves Increased Ranking at QS Asia 2025

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) experienced a very significant increased ranking in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 or is in 172 position compared to the previous year which was in 208 position. The QS Asia ranking was announced in Macau on (6/11/2024) at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2024 summit.

For this Asian university ranking, the QS ranking institution uses four main criteria in the assessment, namely Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, and Global Engagement. In these criteria, there are eleven assessment indicators consisting of: Academic Reputation (30%), Employer Reputation (20%), Faculty Student Ratio (10%), Citations per Paper (10%), International Research Network (10%), Papers per Faculty (5%), Staff with Ph.D. (5%), International Student Ratio (2.5%), International Faculty Ratio (2.5%), Inbound Exchange Students (2.5%), and Outbound Exchange Students (2.5%).

In this latest ranking, Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is among the 10 best universities in Indonesia, confirming its position as one of the leading educational institutions in the country. This increase not only shows UB’s success in various education and research programs, but also the university’s contribution to community development and improving the quality of higher education.

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) sent a delegation to the event which was directly led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso MP. UB attended the event with a mission to improve international collaboration programs in the form of Student and staff exchange, joint research and publication, adjunct professor, visiting professor, and international events.

The Rector of Universitas Brawijaya said that this increase in ranking is the result of the hard work of the entire academic community in maintaining high quality standards.

“We are committed to continuing to improve the competitiveness of the university through research collaboration, innovation development and globally oriented programs,” he said.

This increase in UB’s ranking also strengthens its position in Asia and opens up more opportunities for strategic international cooperation.
