The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) and the Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM) of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) have once again demonstrated their commitment to community service through a national competitive grant for Community Partnership Empowerment from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in 2024. The service team is led by Dr. Endang Arisoesilaningsih, MS (MIPA), together with Prof. Dr. Catur Retnaningdyah, M.Sc. (MIPA), and Riswan Septriayadi Sianturi, S.Sc., MM., M.Sc., Ph.D. (FILKOM), and supported by five students from MIPA and FILKOM. The FILKOM team designed and developed the Bedengan Campground Reservation Information System to support the business processes running at the campsite.
Bedengan Selorejo Camping Ground, located on Jl. Raya Selokerto, Selorejo, Dau District, Malang Regency, East Java, currently has an information system that allows prospective tenants to obtain information about camping regulations, make plot reservations, and rent camping equipment online. This system is designed with various features that make it easier for prospective tourists to make reservations and help managers to manage camping facilities more efficiently.
In the development process, UB community service team carried out a series of activities, starting from user needs analysis to user interface (UI) design and qualitative evaluation of the system. Data collection was carried out through field observations, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) both online and offline. The results of the analysis were then used to design a system that was more in line with the needs of prospective tourists and campsite managers.
The Bedengan Camping Ground Reservation Information System also provides an admin page for managers, which allows for the arrangement of plots and camping equipment that can be rented by tourists. The Bedengan Camping Ground managers welcomed this system and felt helped by the improvement in real-time reservation management and camping equipment inventory.
Through the 2024 Kemendikbud Ristek PKM grant, the Bedengan Campground management team is expected to be able to improve the quality of service and speed up the reservation process at Bedengan campground.
