Universitas Brawijaya received the Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) Award, in the Merdeka Belajar Award event. The award was in commemoration of National Education Day as well as a celebration of the Merdeka Belajar Month that was held at the Trimurti Art Building, Prambanan Complex, Yogyakarta, on Monday (29/5/2023).
In this event, UB received the Merdeka Belajar Award from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology for the category of Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence. According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, Ir. Suharti, M.A., PhD, in his speech said that the award recipients had gone through various processes.
“Each award recipient and winner of the competition has gone through a curation process with clear and strict indicators, one of which is in the category of the best tertiary institution implementing the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) program,” he said.
“This award is given based on the results of monitoring and evaluation accompanied by evidence of the implementation of Permendikbudristek 30/2021 and based on the results of verification from the Inspectorate General as the work unit responsible for handling sexual violence in the Ministry of Education and Culture,” he added as quoted in detikEdu.
This appreciation was received directly by UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, SSi., MSi.PhD.Med.Sc “This is a matter of pride for the UB academic community in commemorating National Education Day 2023.
