Universitas Brawijaya (UB) achieved the third rank nationally in the 2021 Indonesian University Ranking (UniRank) international ranking agency. This ranking was released in July 2021 on the 4icu.org website. Meanwhile, for the Asian level, UB is in the 42nd rank of Top Universities in Asia.
UniRank, previously 4ICU, uses algorithms from five web metrics, namely Google Page Rank, Alexa Traffic Rank, Majestic Seo Referring Domains, Majestic Seo Citation Flow, and Majestic Seo Trust Flow in generally.
UniRank has requirements that universities can be ranked, namely, being accredited by an official higher education accreditation agency, having undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, and having main lectures in the form of face-to-face.
“4ICU is an international university ranking site based on web traffic or based on web metrics, so it can be noted that this is a university website ranking which describes its academic quality indirectly,” explained the Head of UB Rating Center, Adharul Muttaqin, S.T., M.T.

Previously, in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) international ranking, UB was ranked 1201+ in the world, and sixth in Indonesia. This ranking is based on academic reputation, employer reputation, student ratio of the faculty, citations per faculty, international faculty, and international students.
Meanwhile, in the international ranking of Webometrics, UB is ranked 4th nationally based on three indicators, namely web content impact or visibility, openness or transparency, and excellence or scholar. [Irene/ Humas UB/ Trans. Iir]
