Universitas Brawijaya (UB) won 2nd place in the 33rd National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) held at Gajah Mada University Yogyakarta (UGM), (25/11-28/11/2020).
UB excels in the second position defeating IPB, ITS, and Hasanuddin University which are respectively at the 3,4 and 5 ranks. Meanwhile, the general winner position is achieved by Gajah Mada University (UGM).
In the competition, the medals won by UB for posters are two gold, one silver, and one bronze.
For the presentation, the medals received were five gold, two silver and four bronze
Also the three favorite winning teams, which are PKMKC “Design of Pyridine and Nicotine Gas Filters for Membrane-Based Tobacco Fermentation” chairman Dimas Maulana Yusuf; PKMGFK with team leader Cahyono Abdi Wibowo “Wonderful Indonesia (Multifunctional System For Economic Sustainable Growth) As an Effort to Increase Growth Economics in the Tourism Sector; and PKMK with Team leader Yoravika Dwiwibangga with the title PKM Koyo Multi-Function as Aromatherapy, Warming and Moisturizing Skin.
UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, AR., M.S., expressed his gratitude for the achievements achieved by UB students.
According to him, the achievements achieved this time prove that UB is still productive even though it is currently in the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The COVID-19 pandemic does not reduce and kill the productivity of UB students in innovating. Some time ago UB also received an award from the Ministry of Education and Culture as the university with the most patents. It proves that during a pandemic we can still be productive. Besides that, UB also won the title as a university with the Informative category this year, “said the former Dean of FP.
In line with the Rector, Vice Rector III for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Hakim, M.Sc., added that in terms of number and rank, this year UB has increased compared to last year
“This year UB for the first time online was able to pass 42 proposals compared to last year which only 16 proposals. In terms of faculties involved this year there were 10 faculties, while last year there were only four faculties. This is an extraordinary struggle from the supervisor who is facilitated by the rector and faculty, “said Prof. Hakim.
