Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is the university with the highest score based on impact ranking indicator of Webometrics version.
The head of the Rating Center, Adharul Mutaqin S.T., M.T., said that the impact ranking indicator of UB has gone far compared to last year.
“If last year it was in the 500s, now it’s in the 200s,” said Adarul.
Impact ranking is related to the number of personal network addresses outside websites that link to our website.
The increasing impact of UB ranking indicates that the dissemination of information is going well, so that many external websites refer to UB website or do internal links.
The Head of Information Systems and Technology (SIT), Raden Arief Setyawan, ST., MT. added, UB profile as the most popular university is reflected in the many internal links from external sites to UB.
“Besides that, the contribution of all work units in improving the website and the increasing number of collaborations with other parties have also contributed significantly to the stability of UB impact ranking in the last few years,” said the man who is familiarly called Arief.
Meanwhile, for another Webometrics indicator, namely Opennes, UB is in the 900s. Opennes relates to the number of citations from the top 210 authors.
Meanwhile, for the last indicator, namely excellent, UB is in the 2000s rank. Excellent relates to the number of papers that are in the top 10 per citation in each field of science at Simago. Overall, UB currently is ranked 956 in the world and is ranked 3 among universities in Indonesia.
“The number of UB’s papers which are top citations is still lower than 9 other universities. But we will remain optimistic that this indicator can be improved since UB continues to make various efforts to increase the quantity and quality of paper,” said Adharul. (OKY/Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
