International ranking agency UniRank (formerly 4ICU), released the Top 200 Universities in Asia. As many as 23 of them are universities in Indonesia, and UB is ranked 3rd nationally. This ranking was released in July 2021 on the 4icu.org website.
UniRank uses algorithm from five web metrics, namely Google Page Rank, Alexa Traffic Rank, Majestic Seo Referring Domains, Majestic Seo Citation Flow, and Majestic Seo Trust Flow in general ranking.
UniRank has requirements so that universities can be ranked, namely, being accredited by an official higher education accreditation agency, having undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, and having main lectures in the form of face-to-face.
“4ICU is an international university ranking site based on web traffic or based on web metrics, so it can be said that this is a university website ranking that does not directly describe its academic quality,” explained the Head of UB Rating Center, Adharul Muttaqin, S.T., M.T.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Directorate of Administration and Academic Services, Dr. Rosihan Asmara, S.E., M.P said that this achievement was the hard work of all the academic community.
“UB is trying to improve its academic performance and services. International appreciation in various rankings including UniRank is our motivation to further improve academic and non-academic achievements,” said Rosihan.
The following is the list of the 23 best universities in Indonesia according to UniRank: UGM, UI, UB, UNAIR, UPI, UNY, IPB, UNDIP, UNPAD, UNNES, ITB, Sebelas Maret University, Binus, ITS, UM, Udayana, Univ Muhammadiyah Surakarta, UNHAS, UMM, UII, USU, UNAND, and UMY.
Previously, in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) international ranking, UB was ranked 1201+ in the world, and sixth in Indonesia. This ranking is based on five pillars of assessment, namely Teaching (30%), Research (30%), Citation (30%), Industry Income (2.5%), and International Outlook (7.5%).
Meanwhile, in the international ranking of Webometrics, UB is ranked 4th nationally based on three indicators, namely web content impact or visibility, openness or transparency, and excellence or scholar. And in the QS World University Ranking, UB is in the 1001-1200 world, and the top 10 in Indonesia, based on the assessment of academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty, and international students.
