Universitas Brawijaya (UB) involves 80 students which divided into several parts, namely liasson officer, ceremony officer, and health volunteer announcer in the 2024 ASEAN University Games (AUG) held on (1/7-5/7/2024) at the Samantha Krida Building and UB Pertamina Sport Center.
AUG UB Coordinator, Dr. Bambang Dwi Prasetyo, S.Sos., M.Si said that AUG 2024 event had been prepared in coordination between the national committee and the sports committee. Preparations for the implementation of AUG were carried out optimally and followed international standards for the Sepak Takraw and Taekwondo sports.
By holding the AUG event at UB, Bambang hopes that it can be an encouragement for UB in holding international events (activities).
“This is a medium for UB to contribute to the nation and state, especially in student sports events,” said Bambang.
Daniel Sulthon Zanjabil Esfandiary as the PIC of sepak takraw sport branch, said that UB students contributed to the success of this sepak takraw sporting event by accompanying contingents from various countries and providing accommodation for the contingents. Assistance is also provided to International Technical Officials (international referees) and National Technical Officials (national referees).
Andra Justiawan as the PIC of the taekwondo sport added that the contribution of UB students was very helpful in technical implementation. Based on Andra’s statement, UB has done its best in organizing international events. The implementation of AUG in UB received positive responses from contingents from eleven countries.
“UB is ready for similar event. In the future, I hope that UB can be the host, especially seeing the response from athletes from foreign contingents,” said Andra. (di2/Oky/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
