UB Sends the Most Finalists to the Indonesian Vocational Olympiad (OLIVIA)

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) sent 21 delegation teams that became finalists for the 9th Indonesian Vocational Olympiad (OLIVIA) 2024. This activity was held at Hasanuddin University, Makassar, for two days (18-19/07/2024).

In the event which was attended by 72 universities from 16 provinces in Indonesia, UB succeeded in excelling by sending the largest number of teams that made it goes to the final round in 11 competition categories. Olivia IX 2024 was recorded as being attended by 407 students from 144 teams which were the result of selection from participants who passed the initial selection stage, namely 3,204 students or 1,068 teams.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, SH., MH while releasing the delegation, Wednesday (07/17/2024), on the 8th Floor of the Rectorate Building, gave motivation to the students.

“You must have the determination to fight and win. You have to be optimistic! Veni, Vidi, Vici! I came, I competed, I won! The campus will always support, bring the honor of Brawijaya to the national stage!” said Vice Rector III.

UB delegation competed in the Cyber ​​Security, Cooking, Recirculating Aquaculture System, Business Plan, Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Applied Health Science Innovation, Digital & Creative Technology, Web Technology, Aquascape Design Prototype, Scientific Writing: Science and Technology, and Scientific Writing: Social Humanities and Law competitions.

The participants prepared for the Olympiad for two months, which included training, intensive guidance, and simulations.

This achievement is the greatest for the Vocational Faculty, Universitas Brawijaya since it was established 16 years ago, proving the dedication and hard work of the entire academic community in developing the potential and achievements of students.

Several universities that sent delegations include Hasanudin University (19 participants), Sebelas Maret University (16 teams), Bogor Agricultural University (12 teams), and Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (11 teams).

OLIVIA, which has been held since 2016, is a national competition for vocational students from state and private universities throughout Indonesia. The Indonesian Vocational Higher Education Forum (FPTVI) held OLIVIA to increase the competitiveness of vocational people, especially students, by presenting works resulting from their creativity and innovation.
