A total of 86 foreign students from Universitas Brawijaya participated in the campus life orientation. This introduction was held on Friday (12/20/2024) at the Brawijaya Auditorium Building. This orientation activity was filled with an introduction to information on various services provided for foreign students, including scholarship services.
According to the Head of the Technical Implementation Unit of International Academic Affair, Dr. Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd, this introduction activity is important for foreign students. “This meeting is important to introduce culture to foreign students. I believe that students, in addition to living campus life at UB and the rich culture in Malang City. This is our goal, to provide knowledge and confidence while being part of Universitas Brawijaya,” he said.
Also present was the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Santoso, MP who welcomed the foreign students. “Today marks the joining of all of you, becoming part of Universitas Brawijaya, which is committed to academic excellence, research and global collaboration. We are committed to not only providing a good academic climate, but also seeking facilities and infrastructure that can be used in research and education activities,” he said.
He also mentioned that there are various research schemes provided by UB. “One of them is through UB STARS which opens up opportunities for collaborative research with various universities in various countries. There are also various incentives for writing international journals. Hopefully, it can be utilized optimally in increasing research exposure, collaborating and contributing to academics and research to create a positive impact,” he said.
This foreign student orientation activity was attended by participants from various countries such as Malaysia, Pakistan, Timor Leste, Poland, Korea, China, Bangladesh, and other countries.
