UB Becomes General Champion of LKTIM OTN

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) becomes the general champion in the National Online Student Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIM OTN) which was held from 1 June to 30 September 2021, and the official announcement of the winners was made on 30 September 2021.

LKTIM OTN in this second year took the theme of Building the Nation’s Optimism towards A Rising Indonesia in a New Era after the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic.

There are six contested fields this year including Politics and Social Humanities, Science and Technology, Economics and Development, Agrocomplex, Law and Defense, and Health and Medical.

This LKTIM OTN aims to expand the students involvement from various disciplines to find ideas in growing the nation’s optimism towards a Rising Indonesia in the new era after the corona virus disease (COVID 19) pandemic, realizing the real role of students in growing the nation’s optimism towards a Rising Indonesia in a new era after the corona virus disease (COVID 19) pandemic, and fostering a high sense of concern and social responsibility for students in addressing the nation’s problems.

In the competition, UB contingent has succeed to be in the top position with 20 medals, beating the State University of Surabaya (Unnesa) with four medals and the University of Lampung which managed to collect two medals.

Hagus Tarno, Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Agriculture who is the coordinator of the activities, said that in accordance with various inputs from various internal and external parties of Universitas Brawijaya, it is hoped that the form and characteristics of the competition need to be made as unique as possible like PKM for the next year.

“In the future, LKTIM OTN is expected to be like PKM, where each category has its own characteristics and is different from one another,” said Hagus

LKTIM OTN is a national level student scientific competition. This activity was held to provide an opportunity for students to express their critical thoughts on existing problems.
