Universitas Brawijaya Jakarta (UBJ) held an educational and student orientation (ordikma) for new students of the PSDKU Doctoral Program online, Saturday (26/9/2020).
Director of UBJ PSDKU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Kusmartono said that the pandemic period brought about drastic changes in the delivery of education, especially learning activities which were usually carried out using face-to-face method.
“Therefore, for the doctoral program students of the academic year 2020/2021 at UBJ, the learning method is carried out by using the online method in this semester. The online learning method refers to the Rector’s Regulation Number 35 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Universitas Brawijaya Resilient Campus, “said Kusmartono.
Meanwhile, UB Rector, Prof. Dr. Nuhfil Hanani AR, MS welcomed the new students of doctoral program at UBJ campus with great desire and hope. He advised the students to study and try to graduate quickly.
“Besides good academic achievement or good GPA, I hope students will graduate quickly,” said Nuhfil.
He also hopes that doctoral students will start writing journals.
“If necessary, starting in the first semester to write a journal. Let’s compete for students to graduate quickly, guidance is intensified online, “added the former Dean of FP.
Furthermore, the opening of the ordikma was marked by wearing the alma mater jacket to three new student representatives of each study program. After the opening, the ordikma was filled with a public lecture: business models during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, which was delivered by Erick Thohir, MBA, Minister of BUMN.
New students also receive material from several resource persons, including Prof. Candra Fajri Ananda, PhD, special staff of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance regarding national economic recovery in the pandemic era: challenges and opportunities.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Kuswanto, MS, as editor in chief of AGRIVITA, delivered the socialization on international journal writing.
And Dr. Johan AE Noor, the head of UB library delivers material about libraries.
This year, PSDKU UB Jakarta accepted 66 students, with details of the Doctoral Program (PD) of Law Sciences as many as 23 people, PD Administration Science as many as 25 people, and PD Management as many as 18 people. Since its establishment in 2012, UBJ has produced 123 doctors. (KG / Humas UB/ Trans. Iir).
