UB Explores Collaboration with Several Univrsities in Saudi Arabia

Vice Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation and Internationalization, Andi Kurniawan, S.Pi., M.Eng., D.Sc, visited the Middle East to initiate collaboration with universities in Saudi Arabia, (13/11- 11/18/2023).

During the five-day visit, the VR IV group also discussed with the Indonesian Embassy and UB alumni who work in Saudi Arabia for the development of MBKM and Abdimas at Indonesian Schools in Riyad and Jeddah.

“This visit is very important since it is the first for UB to be officially accepted at various universities in Saudi Arabia, facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, especially the Indonesian Education Attaché in Saudi Arabia,” said Andi Kurniawan.

He added that this visit also opened up many opportunities for cooperation and was welcomed by various parties in Saudi Arabia.

“UB delegation was able to meet directly with the Rector or President of various well-known universities in Saudi Arabia. This visit is part of UB Rector’s direction to strengthen collaboration with Middle Eastern countries.

“In accordance with agreements with partners in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

VR IV hopes that the visits that have been made can open up opportunities for collaboration in the development of Education, Research, Innovation and International Community Service.

“One of UB’s main targets is to make a well-known university in Saudi Arabia a doctoral destination for UB lecturers and a place for UB lecturers to carry out visiting research and lecturer programs. “In addition, UB also hopes to have staff and students in-bound with a number of universities in Saudi Arabia,” he said.

In this activity, VR IV was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Fikes) Prof. Dian Handayani, S.KM., M.Kes., PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Ratno Bagus Edy Wibowo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., Vice Dean II FIKES Dr . Asti Melani Astari, S.Kp., M.Kep., Sp.Mat, and Assistant Professor FISIP Amin Heri Susanto, Lc., Ma., Ph.D.

Several locations that are destinations for visits besides the Republic of Indonesia embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, include King Saud University, Rivadh, Majmaah University, Northern Riyadh Qassim University, Buraydah Al-Qassim Province, Qassim University Hospital, Buraydah Al-Qassim Province, and Umm Quro University , Mecca.
