UB Initiates Development Strategy of Baluran National Park as a Leading Destination

The Doctoral Service Team of Universitas Brawijaya (DM UB) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) as part of the Tridharma program of higher education, namely Community Service. This FGD aims to increase the potential of Baluran National Park as one of the leading tourist attractions in East Java, with a focus on improving tourist safety and developing attractive and sustainable tourist attractions.

This program is led by Dr. Edriana Pangestuti, SE., M.Sc., DBA, together with a team consisting of Pramadika Ramanda, S.T., M.AB, and Dr. Kharisma Sri Rahayu, S.S.T., M.A. The FGD was held in Baluran National Park, located in Banyuputih District, Situbondo Regency, East Java.

Preparations were carried out from August to September 2024, with the FGD on October 1, 2024. The program was motivated by collaboration between UB and Baluran National Park to overcome various problems faced, such as park management, tourist safety, and the development of new attractions with a sustainable tourism concept.

The UB lecturer team held discussions and brainstorming with the national park staff. Pramadika Ramanda, S.T., M.AB led the discussion which focused on improving security at Bama Beach. Meanwhile, the topic of sustainable tourism attractions was discussed for Sijile Beach.

“The solutions offered include improving tourism management and developing environmentally friendly attractions,” explained Pramadika.

The Baluran National Park appreciates the contribution of the DM UB team in initiating the Baluran National Park development strategy.

“We are very grateful and warmly welcome the contribution of Universitas  Brawijaya team in solving the problems in Baluran National Park, especially related to tourist safety and sustainable tourism of new tourist attractions in the future,” said the part of Baluran National Park.
