UB Hosts BISS 2025 Info Session: Fully Funded Scholarship Opportunity for International Students

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) successfully held an Online Info Session to introduce the Brawijaya International Student Scholarship (BISS) 2025, a fully funded scholarship program for international students aspiring to study at UB.

The event was opened by Dr. Didik Hartono, S.S., M.Pd., Director of the International Office UB, representing the Rector of UB. In his speech, Dr. Didik emphasized that Indonesia, particularly Malang and UB, is an excellent study destination for international students.

“We understand that Indonesia may not yet be as well-known as developed countries as a top study destination. However, Indonesia offers a rich academic and cultural experience. Malang, with its pleasant environment and affordable cost of living, is an ideal city for learning and personal growth. UB itself is one of Indonesia’s top universities, with internationally accredited programs. Through BISS, we hope to welcome talented students from various countries to experience an outstanding educational journey at UB,” he stated.

Following the opening remarks, Aulia Luqman Aziz, M.Pd., Coordinator of Partnership for Southeast Asia and Africa at the International Office UB, provided a detailed explanation of BISS 2025. In his presentation, he emphasized that the scholarship aims to provide access to quality education for international students without financial concerns.

“BISS 2025 offers comprehensive scholarship benefits, covering full tuition fees, living allowance, dormitory accommodation, health insurance, visa and stay permit fees, and a one-time return airfare. This scholarship is open to students pursuing Bachelor’s (S1), Master’s (S2), and Doctoral (S3) degrees in UB’s top academic programs,” he explained.

He also outlined the BISS 2025 selection process, which includes administrative screening, an interview session, and final selection announcements. Applications have been open since December 25, 2024, and will close on February 28, 2025.

The session saw an overwhelming response from participants, with attendees from various countries, including Thailand, Nigeria, India, Timor-Leste, Iran, the Philippines, Malaysia, Liberia, Burundi, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Australia, Poland, Spain, Cambodia, and Japan. Many expressed keen interest in UB’s academic programs and were eager to learn more about student life at the university.

This event marks UB’s strategic effort to expand its global reach and attract talented students from around the world to join its dynamic and multicultural academic community.
