Brawijaya University Collaborates with the Financial Services Authority to Hold Capital Markets Seminar

Brawijaya University in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) held a “Capital Markets Seminar”, Thursday (29/2/2024).

This event was attended by the Vice Rector  III for Student Affairs, Alumni and Entrepreneurship, Brawijaya University, Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, SH., MH., Head of OJK Capital Market Regulation and Development Department, Antonius Hari P.M.

Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UB, Ainur Rofiq, Ph.D explained why students must be aware about capital markets.

“Because the capital market is a strategic instrument for the economy. “So, it is hoped that even though students will not have a career in the capital markets, they will be able to invest their income to be more productive through the capital markets,” he said.

Ainur said, FEB UB itself already has courses on investment where students will be taught how to become a true investor. However, his party views that similar seminars are very important to carry out so that students’ literacy regarding capital markets can be broader.

 

Head of OJK Capital Market Regulation and Development Department, Antonius Hari P. M, said that the capital market is a very important thing for students to know.

“This activity is not only to increase knowledge, but also to provide innovation and new research, so that we can create and practice what young people should do for young people’s investment activities today,” he said.

This activity was also attended by expert speakers in the capital markets sector such as Nurman Cahyadi, Director of Professional Licensing and Capital Market Supporting Institutions of OJK, Mr. Jeffrey Hendrik, Development Director of the Indonesian Stock Exchange, Mr. Mauldy R. Makmur, APRDI Executive Board, and Sabirin, Chair of the Laboratory Investment and Capital Markets and Lecturer in the Accounting Department, FEB UB.

The event was also attended by 2200 seminar participants from various universities throughout Malang and also enlivened this event.
