“We hope that through this seminar, students will not only understand how to manage finances, but also have the ability to survive financial challenges in the digital era,” said Prof. Widodo.

On the same occasion, a Professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Dr. Candra Fajri Ananda, S.E., M.Sc., emphasized the importance of financial literacy as an essential life skill.

“The young generation must have knowledge about investment, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to adapt to digital developments. The digital era offers convenience, but without a good understanding, this can be a consumer trap. The young generation must be wise,” said Prof. Candra, who also serves as Deputy Chair of OJK Supervisory Agency.

Prof. Candra also emphasized the role of students as the agents of change.

“Students have a strategic role in encouraging financial literacy in the family, community, and campus environment. Be Financial Literacy Ambassadors,” he said.

He also reminded about the importance of having financial resilience to face economic uncertainty.

“Don’t be easily tempted by social pressure or a consumptive lifestyle. Make rational financial decisions,” continued Prof. Candra.

Prof. Candra invited students to build a long-term financial mindset.

“Don’t just think about today, but think about the future. Good financial decisions are those that are planned,” he said.

Prof. Candra emphasized the importance of managing financial risks and having an emergency fund.

“An emergency fund is the first protection from unexpected financial risks,” he explained.

The former Dean of FEB encouraged students to start their journey towards financial freedom by saving and investing.

“Start saving and investing early. This is the key to building financial resilience,” concluded Prof. Candra.

This seminar was attended by hundreds of students from various faculties at UB and other universities in Malang City who seemed enthusiastic about following the material and discussing with the speakers.

This activity is expected to be able to improve students’ understanding of financial management and form a young generation that is financially resilient in the digital era. (RIB/UB PR/ Trans. Iir).
