Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is the university that achieves the largest funding for research from the Ministry of Research and Technology or National Agency for Research and Technology (BRIN).
The funds amounting to Rp. 11.98 billion, for the Category of National Competitive Research and Decentralization. The National Competitive Research Category includes Basic Research Schemes (PD), Applied Research Schemes (PT), Development Research Schemes (PP), Beginner Lecturer Research Schemes (PDP), Inter-College Collaborative Research Schemes (PKPT), Postgraduate Research Schemes (PPS) .
The categories of decentralization research are the Higher Education Leading Basic Research Scheme (PDUPT), the Higher Education Leading Applied Research Scheme (PTUPT), the Higher Education Leading Development Research Scheme (PPUPT).
The Chairman of LPPM, Dr. Ir. Bambang Susilo, M.Sc.Agr. explained that as many as 71 research titles had been approved by the center to get funding from the Head of the Directorate for Research and Community Service (DRPM – Kemenristek / National Agency for Research and Technology).
With the funding obtained, Bambang hopes that it can contribute to improve UB reputation in the international arena.

“The output of this research is the international publications. International publications through international journals indexed by Scopus and Webs of Sciences will later affect UB reputation or ranking in the international arena. In addition, research with Technology Readiness (TKT) above 7 in which it can be developed into innovations that are expected to cooperate with industry so that it can be applied to society, “he said.
Previously, the Minister of Research and Technology / Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (Menristek / Head of National Agency for Research and Innovation), Bambang PS Brodjonegoro announced that research funding for non-legal state universities (PTN non BH) in 2021 will be sourced from State Higher Education Operational Costs (BOPTN) ) amounting to 632 billion rupiah on Thursday (18/02).
