UB and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan Signed MoU

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) signed a cooperation agreement with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Tuesday (04/01/2023). The signing of the MoU was held online and offline in UB and UMK Rectorate buildings.

UB Rector, Prof. Widodo, S.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.Med.Sc expressed his appreciation for this collaboration.

“It is an honor for us to be able to collaborate with UMK. We hope that with this collaboration we can complement each other and grow together, especially we can learn how UMK builds Entrepreneurial University,” said the Rector in his remarks.

He added, this collaboration is expected to increase Key Performance Indicators (KPI), including by carrying out visiting professors, student exchanges.

“With the many similarities between UB and UMK, especially in the field of Veterinary Medicine, it is hoped that they can work together not only in the field of student exchanges or visiting professors, but also joint research and joint publications,” said the Rector.

Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) drh. Dyah Ayu Oktavianie A.P., M.Biotech explained, before signing the MoU, UB and UMK had implemented several collaborations since 2021.

“We routinely invite UMK professors to teach in the 3 in 1 program. We have also sent and accepted students for student exchanges, and sent lecturers to take part in internships and international conferences at UMK,” he explained.

In the future, Dyah hopes that as stated by the Rector, that is to expand cooperation in the fields of research and publications, which are currently in the synchronization stage.

Meanwhile, UMK Vice Counselor Prof. Dato’ Dr. Razli bin Che Razak in his speech expressed his appreciation for this collaboration.

“There are only two Veterinary Medicine Faculties in Malaysia. Therefore, with this collaboration, we hope to make it easier for our students to further improve their competence,” he concluded. [Irene/ Humas UB/Trans. Iir]
